Practical Life

118 Children feel important when they can participate in the work of day to day life.  In the Practical Life area we focus on things such as buttoning, sweeping, cleaning a table, and pouring.  It is also here where children begin to understand how to complete a work cycle.  They learn where to get things from on the shelf, how to complete the job, and how to return it to its proper place on the shelf when done.  Mastering these tasks builds their independence, self confidence, hand eye coordination and concentration.  They are also strengthening their small muscles in preparation for writing.  You will love it when they want to practice these same skills at home.
